International Scientific In-Presence Conferences in The Post-Covid Era. A Hypothesis for Revitalization

The study seminar of the international scientific network EURAU aims to initiate a confrontation between international experts on the new forms of scientific dissemination through the formula of the international conference in presence.
The pandemic has altered the modes of debate between scientific communities, and the consequent practice of long-distance conferences has severely weakened the real possibility of confrontation and exchange, as well as networking, that in-presence events had previously favored.
It is therefore considered essential to initiate a reflection on how to renew the traditional formula of the international conference so that this type of event can be renewed, allowing for deeper interaction between researchers and scholars.
The EURAU network, active since 2004, has organized ten international conferences in different European countries, promoting the debate on European architecture and city. The next EURAU international conference will be organized by DAStU and held at the Politecnico di Milano in January 2024.
