Spatializing Energy Transition
8/11/2024, h. 14:00 – 18:00
Politecnico di Milano, Campus Leonardo, Edificio 12, Sala riunioni
This seminar represents a moment of reflection halfway through Marina Aldera’s PhD journey, designed to examine the methodological framework of the research and initiate a transnational dialogue on the topics addressed.
The research focuses on the territorial consequences of the ongoing energy transition, analyzing the mechanisms that govern it and the associated risks. The case study adressed is the province of Viterbo (one of the leading areas in Italy for land consumption dedicated to ground-mounted photovoltaic installations) and provides a diachronic perspective on this phenomenon and aims to understand the reasons behind the high concentration of photovoltaic systems in this area, their territorial and landscape impact, and the future prospects for the region.
The theme of the localization of new renewable energy installations is shared by all the speakers, making this seminar an opportunity for comparison on how the energy transition is being shaped at the territorial level in two different European countries: Italy and Spain.
In conclusion, the seminar not only allows for an assessment of the research progress but also lays the groundwork for future explorations and collaborations in the field of energy transition and its territorial implications.
