Drawing on the Existing
Polimi PhD School International Workshop, Public Lectures
31/01/2025, h. 16:00 – 17:30
Piattaforma Teams
As part of the AUID International Workshop of the PolimiPhD School, this design-based PhD workshop engages in an open experimentation with modes and media to test and enable ways of visualizing and producing knowledge about the existing, considering it as a positional trace and implication that influences further (re)design. Both the existing and the potential transformations are intended as part of a continuous process of change and adaptation of the present and future building stock.
The PhD workshop aims to explore and represent, through interdisciplinary design media, the multiple interplay between the selective reading and interpretation of the existing and the design choices related to its transformation.
The workshop is a four-week program with a three-week remote preparatory phase and a one-week intensive program at the Politecnico di Milano.
The first on-line session on 31st January will serve as a kick-off.
The one-week program from 24 to 28th February at the Politecnico di Milano, Sala del Consiglio – Building 29 will conclude with the exhibition and presentation of the workshop process and results.
