Global conflicts, violence, and colonization processes are driving profound societal transformations. We are traversing a period of instability marked by the erosion of previously established rights and a rise in inequality and marginalization. In our broken world, it seems imperative to acknowledge the inherent limits and fragility of our existence, as well as to recognize that many of the narratives and structures of modernity (or whatever term we choose to employ for the past two centuries of Eurocentric human history) are in the process of disintegration, potentially to be supplanted by new and improved narratives and structures, though this is not guaranteed. Within this redefined framework, the concept of repair is emerging as a means to re-evaluate the theories and practices associated with addressing social environmental degradation.
