As part of the teaching program of the Urban Planning Studio, the lecture series “Adriatic Futures: Exploring the Socio-Ecological Transition of the Adriatic City” seeks to present and critically engage with research and design practices that consider the Adriatic City as a significant site for experimentation in urban planning and design. This relevance stems from the region’s complex socio-ecological challenges, which profoundly influence the habitability of both human and non-human populations.
The contributions, drawing upon diverse methodological and disciplinary approaches, will examine various transformative trajectories that interrogate the socio-spatial consequences of deindustrialization dynamics and contemporary touristification processes in the broader context of ecological degradation and climate change.
