Michael Franz Jakob – On Standardisation (in Architecture, Design, Landscape Architecture)

Architecture, landscape architecture, and urbanism are caracterised today by a process of standardisation and banalisation with the result that our built environment looks more and more the same. Uniformity is of course both a positive and negative value which depends of the context where things are assimilated or not. The conference discusses the impli-cations as well as the historical bases of this tendency.
