Kickoff Meeting
Join us for the kickoff meeting of the “Pro-Green Labs” project, taking place on April 18, 2024. This EU-funded initiative, with a budget of 800,000 euros, aims to establish sustainability goals in architectural education. Led by the Professorship of Social Science Urban Research at Bauhaus University Weimar, the project focuses on promoting green skills within architectural education.
Over the next three years, the project will support the implementation of sustainability objectives in architect training programs in Egypt and Jordan. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the project seeks to bridge gaps in existing architecture curricula, strengthening social and practical aspects of education. Ultimately, this initiative aims to enhance the future prospects of students and promote the long-term sustainability of cities.
Five practice-based laboratories will be established, facilitating knowledge exchange among partners from the Middle East, Sweden, Italy, and Weimar in a non-hierarchical network. Partner universities include Alexandria University, Cairo University, and Arab Academy in Egypt; German-Jordanian University Amman and University of Petra in Jordan; Politecnico di Milano in Italy; and Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.
To simultaneously address dissemination purposes, the first two sessions (S1.1 & S1.2) will be live-streamed as “quasi-public” (invitation-only) online sessions for watching guests, invited to learn about the project via the link.
