Architecture Crossroads Seminar Series
23/04/2025, h. 15:00
Politecnico di Milano, Campus Leonardo, Edificio 11, Aula IIIA
The “Ecologies and Resources” seminar is part of the Architecture Crossroads series, which explores architectural regeneration practices in contexts affected by various forms of fragility. The Architecture Crossroads seminars focus on architectural transformation outside large metropolitan areas, specifically focusing on processes that engage with local communities and address underuse and fragility through a contemporary lens.
This seminar focuses on the relationship between architecture, environment, and the use of materials. In an era where ecological awareness is no longer optional but essential, the seminar examines how architectural practice can transform themes such as reuse, abandonment, and environmental sensitivity into a form of architecture that bridges poetry and technique.
This talk features contributions from ErranteArchitetture and AMAA – Collaborative Architecture Office for Research and Development. Their works on ordinary architectures reveal a deep sensitivity toward resources and operate across various project scales.
ErranteArchitetture brings a hands-on approach to the discussion. Their work is grounded in a strong sense of place, developing projects with often low-tech interventions showing refined attention to detail. AMAA contributes a material-driven and research-oriented perspective. Their projects emphasize construction quality, often exploring strategies for reuse and adaptability.
