Observations, influences and material assembly. A talk about a small house in Australia.
Flat Rock House is, in many ways, a domus romana where the impluvium has been replaced by a wild meadow courtyard and whose east side has been turned into a dematerialized screen of olive trees. So, instead of an enclosed square, the house is C-shaped with the path to the front door and living area -the focal point of the house – running along the other north wall.
A simple program made intriguing by the architectural detail and the materials.
