Charter for Mega-events in Heritage-rich Cities
The HOMEE project publishes the “Charter for Mega-events in Heritage-rich Cities” launching it at an international webinar on July 8.
DAStU is the Project Leader of the HOMEE (Heritage Opportunities/threats within Mega-Events in Europe) Research Project funded by JPI Cultural Heritage.
This project aims to better understand the relationship between mega-events and cultural heritage preservation policy by looking at the impact of mega-events on heritage-rich cities in Europe. Starting in 2018, the HOMEE project brought together leading research centres working in the fields of cultural heritage policy and mega-event planning, in close contact with key institutions and policy officers.
After completing the study of several cases and validating the findings with international experts and policy makers, the project releases its key policy output: the “Charter for Mega-events in Heritage-rich Cities”
The Charter aims at solving the emerging challenges for city decision makers and event organisers by providing principles and recommendations on how to avoid pitfalls and engage heritage resources whilst safeguarding their values.
On July 8, 2021, the launch of the Charter will take place during an international webinar. REGISTER HERE
