The seminar discusses residential projects of different scales and degrees of flexibility which stimulate a rethinking of the spaces of collective housing in the context of the contemporary city. It explores how the design project may contribute to mediating transitions from the urban to the domestic, from the public to the private, and from the external to the internal space. It aims to define the domain of urban housing as central to design for sustainability, as a place of social relationships and a platform for new ecological design definitions.
