Fabiano Lemes de Oliveira, chiamato come professore associato nel settore ICAR 21 con le risorse “internazionalizzazione”, presenta il suo profilo e i suoi programmi di ricerca.
Fabiano Lemes de Oliveira (PhD, MPhil, BArch and Urb, FHEA) is a new Associate Professor in Urbanism at DAStU. Prior to coming to Milan he was a Reader in Urbanism and Architecture at the University of Portsmouth in the UK, where he worked for over 10 years.
Fabiano was the Research Leader at Portsmouth School of Architecture, the coordinator of the MA Sustainable Cities and taught architecture and urban design studios, as well as history and theory of urbanism, for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He was also actively involved in PhD supervision.
His research lies at the intersection of urban and landscape planning, with a focus on how ideas for green space systems have been considered in planning thought both from a contemporary and historical perspectives. Fabiano was the principal investigator in the a recent British Council Newton Fund Programme project titled ‘Re-naturing Cities’ and in the Global Challenges Research Fund project ‘The Environment-Culture-Technology Nexus: Envisioning Future Green Cities’. He is the author of the book Green Wedge Urbanism: History, Theory and Contemporary Practice, published by Bloomsbury (London/ New York) in 2017, and the main editor of the book Planning Cities with Nature: Theories, Strategies and Methods, published by Springer (Amsterdam) in 2019.
