Restrospective and Prospectives
Starting with a retrospective on the evolution of the use of geographic Information Communication Technologies in spatial planning and design, and on the recent advances in planning support technologies, the lecture presents the history and the methodology foundations of the geodesign approach. State-of- the-art techniques, tools, and case studies are presented, including the geodesign intensive workshop format. Focus will be given to digital data, technologies, workflows, and tools for collaborative planning and design. The discussion is complemented by putting geodesign in context in the European and International planning and design contemporary practice, arguing how innovation may contribute to address locally urgent sustainability global challenges.
