Reflections on the transformative role of the Arts
The ongoing manifestations of the environmental crisis are continuously challenging both natural and anthropic environments. Landscapes, as results of stratified interrelations between human activities and the environment, are key in reflecting on new transformative practices required in a sustainability transition perspective. Within the framework of the New European Bauhaus initiative – that connects the European Green Deal to our daily lives and living spaces, the seminar aims to explore the potential role that the arts and creativity can play in making more sustainable landscapes. Going beyond their communicative value and power, the seminar will discuss their active embedment in innovative practices and processes generating the landscape.
