The MIAW 2021 edition will focus on the event of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games Milano-Cortina. The workshop will experiment with new architectural approaches that will make the Olympic Games physically-responsible, socially-sustainable, and environmentally-friendly. The workshop activities will focus on urban strategies and architecture projects to be implemented in the sites dedicated to the Olympic Games in Milan to transform the event into an opportunity for Milan’s city through a long-term regeneration process.
The Opening Conference of MIAW 2021 will start and enrich the debate on the issues at the center of the workshop, also presenting the Visiting Professors involved in this edition.
A series of lectures by guests Adalberto Del Bo, Martin Müller, and Nicola Russi will frame different aspects of the topic: the role of urban design, the legacy of Mega-Events, and the opportunity of regeneration given by abandoned rail yard.
