Greening Cities Shaping Cities, A continuity
In urban regeneration strategies and according to the guidelines of the 2030 EU Biodiversity Strategy, nature is increasingly considered a solution that brings multiple co-benefits to society. However, for an effective integration of nature in urban planning, some aspects are still overlooked. This seminar addresses two of them: governance models and the recognition of nature as a stakeholder.
In particular, Prof. Niki Frantzeskaki (Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne) will present recent challenges of implementing NBS in urban settings especially related to Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Nadine Galle (Tree Mania – Strategic Partnerships, Ph.D. of University College of Dublin and MIT) will introduce the concept of “Internet of Nature”.
A roundtable discussion with invited guests follows.
