Ph.D. Seminar
The seminar is part of the Ph.D. “Participatory modeling in urban design for cross-border regions,” which develops a conceptual model to support participation in complex areas.
Starting from the research topic, the seminar intends to promote a discussion regarding the preliminary results obtained. The Ph.D. focuses on the relationship between participatory planning and climate change. The current challenges require a new reflection on the relationship between buildings and open spaces. To better investigate this connection, adopting a holistic vision and using flexible tools that favor bottom-up processes is necessary. Some useful tests were carried out during the research to improve the conceptual model. The seminar will argue the methodology used and the comparative criteria chosen to analyze the progress of the research. After a careful introduction to the context of the application of the tests, useful for better understanding some dynamics, the preliminary results will be illustrated. The goal is to consolidate the conceptual model in complex contexts, such as the cross-border region between Canton Ticino (Switzerland) and the Lombardy Region (Italy)Relatore: Annalisa Rollandi
