Tales of rivers and other water bodies
9/12/2024, h. 9:30 – 13:30
Piattaforma Webex
The water landscapes surrounding us, with their irreplaceable ecological-environmental value and the well-being they generate, are not “original nature” but “transformed nature”, as a result of spontaneous processes and interventions designed to make human existence in the world possible. Water continues to fascinate us and to be at the heart of landscape imagination, both as a social and collective value and as a territory of anticipation, where the accelerating effects of climate change are becoming more marked with each passing year.
The three case-studies presented will provide a narrative and multidisciplinary perspective on rivers and other water landscapes, spanning from the renaturation of the Aire river in Geneva and its complex natural and cultural dynamics, to the explorations and activations of the rivers of the city of Bozen-Bolzano through walks, workshops, performances and temporary interventions, to an interpretation of the islands of the Mediterranean as the small-scale laboratory of our complex future.
