Rivista Territorio – Call for Abstract

Report from the Post-Disaster Reconstruction

Abstracts due May 15, 2026

Territorio is launching a special call dedicated to exploring the challenges and opportunities of post-disaster reconstruction.

This issue focuses on the medium- and long-term processes that follow disasters, earthquakes, floods, fires, droughts, and climate-related events, moving beyond immediate emergency response to examine how reconstruction can foster resilience, innovation, and community strength.

We invite contributions that highlight reconstruction as a complex, negotiated process, where social, cultural, economic, and institutional factors are as decisive as technical solutions.

Submissions should provide grounded, practice-based insights into how reconstruction was actually carried out, including case studies, projects, and critical reflections on successes, failures, and unexpected outcomes.

The special issue also values small-scale, adaptive interventions, participatory approaches, and strategies that generate lasting social and spatial value.

Contributions from practitioners, researchers, and actors working directly in affected territories are particularly welcome, with the goal of sharing practical tools and lessons learned.
