The seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of the art of the integration of climate considerations into public procurement. Furthermore, it will shed light both on recent advances in the integration of climate proofing additional requirements and evaluation criteria, and on persistent methodological and political barriers.
The evolution of European directives since the publication of COM(2008)400 on Green Public Procurement, as well as the development of operative tools for the selection of proposal, will be the focal points of this discussion.
The cases of the City of Turin and of Regione Lombardia will be presented to illustrate direct experiences in the management of the issue of climate change at the local and regional government level.
