Full Professor

Andrea Di Franco, full professor in architectural and urban design. He is involved, with a large interdisciplinary research group, on architectural design as a social practice in complex contexts. This attitude implies the involvement in the whole process, from the solicitation of the modification requests, up to the formulation of some possible experiments intended as interlocutory verification. The research conducted assumes the characteristics of action research: its products take on theoretical and methodological value in the contact between concrete experiments and reactions of the territories and populations involved. For some years now, the processes linked to the criticality of urban peripheral areas and prison areas have been under study. Its position of analysis and project proposal starting from the academic field is assumed with the political role of activating the possibility of modification of the civil duty of the university institution and is accompanied by pedagogical responsibility towards young researchers and students who are involved in research. It constantly publishes the results of its studies, in various forms, starting from the different research development plans of the project. He is active in teaching in the Bachelor's, Master's and PhD courses in Architectural, Urban and Interior Design.
