META-SETS for circularity: Data for strategic urban metabolic management for a metropolitan re-circulation of construction, deconstruction and demolition materials
The project aims to develop an integrated framework for the management, traceability, and monitoring of data to quantify and visualize flows of construction, deconstruction, and demolition materials. The objective is to support circular practices in the construction sector, enable data-driven urban planning, and promote sustainable development through an integrated digital and analytical approach.
The research is based on urban metabolism analysis and bottom-up data collection, starting from case studies in Sweden, Belgium, Italy, and Finland. It includes material valorization through hubs/consolidation centers and reverse logistics planning to optimize transportation and material destinations.
