A complex understanding of contemporary planning challenges shall be presented, considering the impact of regional, demographic, political and socio-economic changes on urban design, urban policy and programmes. The potential challenges posed by AI-powered tools in the realms of analysis, planning, implementation, and management of urban interventions may be considered. A critical reference to a set of international case studies, as well as a critical focus on digitalization will be very appreciated.
