Dialogues on Fragility Matters
Architecture and Urban Growth in Indian Cities
13/02/2025, h. 10:00
Politecnico di Milano, Campus Leonardo, Edificio 29 “Carta”, Sala riunioni
The seminar series “Dialogue on Fragility Matters: Architecture and Urban Growth in Indian Cities” will explore themes such as the challenges posed by megacity expansion in the architectural and urban fields, cultural exchange impacts on urban planning, the delicate interplay between architecture and heritage conservation, the pressing contemporary environmental challenges and the evolution of housing typologies.
The first event highlights research developed by Pilar M. Guerrieri and Giulia Setti in the Indian context, focusing on the growth of Indian Megalopolis and on the evolution of domestic architecture.
The second half of the seminar series will host four international experts who will explore central issues in Indian urbanism and architecture: the balance between conservation and innovation, environmental crises and urban resilience, and housing fragility. The invited experts are pioneers in these fields and bring valuable institutional prestige.
