Rituals of the affective city
In 1913, Georg Simmel, in his essay Philosophy of Landscape, introduced the concept of Stimmung (mood), meaning the sensitive approach that man interposes with the surrounding landscape. In this way, pervasiveness becomes the viewpoint of the place and reality experience. In this context, preserving the sensitive heritage is necessary to safeguard an intonation of soul that is indispensable for appropriating the so-called genius loci, the basis for a primordial predisposition to space. This seminar is related to the course of Prof. Aurosa Alison in Landscape Aesthetics and is an added value is to provide architecture students with an in-depth study of an aesthetic nature on landscape issues: urban, natural and metaphysical.
